Democracy is coming... The Stephanie Rearick "Back Together Again" Tour Wrap-up Stephanie spent the month of October 2009 on a tour across the country, playing music and speaking at the Economics of Peace Conference in Sonoma CA. It was great! Along the way she played: Madison, Chicago, St. Louis, New Orleans, Austin TX, Tucson AZ, LA, San Francisco, Portland, Boulder and Des Moines IA. See tour photos here. Rearick's 20-minute speech at the Economics of Peace Conference was about Timebanking as a tool for making our economic system more equal and just. BIO: Stephanie Rearick is a solo artist and fronts The There Was a Mans. Previous bands include Your Mom SRO and The Coma Savants. Rearick has issued 4 full-length solo releases plus recordings with Your Mom, Your Mom SRO and The Coma Savants, along with side work with musicians such as Eugene Chadbourne and The Crest. Rearick's work is sometimes dark piano-based classical/cabaret/pop. In addition to piano, Rearick sings, plays trumpet, and builds pieces with various sound sources live on a Boss Loopstation. Stephanie Rearick has won three Madison Area Music Awards (MAMAs) - for Best Classical Album (The Bucket Rider) and Best Classical Artist in 2005 and Best Unique Album (Star Belly) in 2006. Rearick has been honored to have shared the stage with Faun Fables, Eugene Chadbourne, Rose Polenzani, The Detholz!, Stuart Davis and many others. She is often compared to The Dresden Dolls, Tom Waits, David Bowie and Regina Spektor. Rearick's music is featured in "Saving Jackie," a film by SA Burks that screened at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. Recent Releases: her own Democracy, Eugene Chadbourne's Sacred Insects of Ancient Egypt, Year of the Chadfest and Leaders Split Crack (Blues 2005) and No Camouflage, a Madison Anti-war compilation CD. Stephanie Rearick won the 2006 Madison Area Music Award (MAMA) for Best Unique Album (Star Belly) and Best Unique Artist, and the 2004 MAMAs for Best Classical Album (The Bucket Rider) and Best Classical Artist.
